Hi! We just came back from Peoria, IL and a visit with Patti Smith, the founder of Operation Santa. That organization makes Christmas stockings and fills them with goodies for the troops. They wanted to put a hand written card in each stocking and asked me if I'd give them some the card I have collected. I put the word out and the Stitchin' Kittens and ONE MAD DOG quilting group sewed around 500 for me to take to them! Woo HOO!! I was interviewed by WMBD of Peoria, WHOI-19 OF PEORIA, and 98.5 KISSFM Radio Station. I even got the chance to go to the studio at WHOI and play with the green screen and weather maps-just as if I were the weather reporter! Everyone was so very kind to me and my family. It was a great (QUICK overnight trip). We drove over 800 miles in 2 days but it was well worth the experience! Thanks to everyone in Peoria. Thanks to everyone who helped sign cards for the troops. You are going to make a difference in someone's life this Christmas by your jesture.
All signed cards must be collected and given to me by November 22, 2008. I will be having a card Signing party at the Charter Township of Van Buren Hall on Tyler Rd. in Belleville on Sat. Nov. 22, 10AM-4PM. Santa will be there to meet and greet the kids/guests. Light refreshments will be served. FREE!!!!!! No charge... please just come and sign a card or visit.

We'll be collecting Christmas cards at the Clinton Fall Festival in Clinton, MI, on US 12, about 11 miles west of Saline. I'll be at the #414 Marine Corps League Red Canopy Tent!!! Look for us there and sign some cards for the troops! Thanks. 8)

Sign a card for the troops this weekend (Sept 26-28) at The Clinton Fall Festival. (US 12 just 12 miles west of Saline, Michigan) Look for the RED canopy tent with MARINES #414 on it. They'll have cards for you to sign. Remember to thank them for serving our country. They are a great group of people!
